Welcome to Mountain View Elementary!
We are the home of the Mountain Lions and serve preschool through 5th grade in Lacey, WA. Our mission is to ensure that all students have the skills, attitudes, and learning necessary to become contributing members of our diverse and changing society.

Academic Gap Goal
By June 2025, students that are below the 50th percentile in the easyCBM benchmark assessment will improve by 10% or at least one-color band in the following categories: Word Reading Fluency (grades K–1), Passage Reading Fluency (grades 2–3), and Overall Math (grades 4–5)
Behavioral or Social-Emotional Learning Gap Goal
By June 2025, the number of at-risk attendance students will increase by 10%, effectively shifting them from chronically absent.
School Improvement Plan
Building History
Mountain View Elementary was built in 1956 on 13.8 acres. It is located at 1900 College Street SE in Lacey. The 49,944 square foot building includes 29 instructional spaces, plus 15 portable classrooms and an 8-classroom modular building.
- In 2000, a major modernization and improvements to the building, site, and street frontage was completed, utilizing bond and state assistance funds.
- In 2010, a major upgrade and reconfiguration of the portable classroom buildings was completed.
- In 2015, Meadows received a new 8-plex preschool center.
